Day 2....

Well i only played for about 1.5 hours again today but still made some good money in the short session. I played 1 table of .50/1 and pretty much ran over the table. I was up about 2 buy ins within the first hour and a half but had some stuff to do so i called it quits for the day. Anyways its the 1st intermission of the Red Wings game so i am going to keep this real short. I already managed to lose my 2nd goal because i bet 50 on the Wings money line tonight but if they end up winning then i wont consider it a loss haha. I still haven't figured out how to get hands from bodog onto pokertracker so i still don't have any hands but hopefully i will figure it out soon. Day 1 on Bodog....

I finally got money onto bodog today after calling them and i have to say their customer support is really good. I just called them and within about 3 minutes i had money on my account and was good to play. Unfortunately that is about the only good thing i like about bodog. Their software is so shitty its unbelievable and almost unplayable. I don't know if its because im not used to it or what, but compared to stars and fulltilt its a joke. Another thing that i don't like about bodog is the fact that they have a sports book on their website. I hate this because i know im going to start wanting to gamble on some games and i didn't put enough cash on there to do that too. So as of right now I'm going to make a goal within my goal and try not to gamble on any sports games within the 30 days on bodog. This doesn't include when I'm in Vegas May 9-16 haha. As far as poker goes i only played for about 1.5 hours on bodog and ended up finishing with about 370 in my account. I started off 1 tabling .25/.50 and within about hour I was up to 300 and had enough to jump up to .50/1. It really is amazing how bad the play is at the lower levels compared to the stakes i am used to. This is almost a disadvantage for me because i think that i am almost over thinking what these players are doing rather than just doing the obvious against opponents who are oblivious. Anyways i have to get going but i cant figure out how to get Hand Histories from bodog onto pokertracker yet so once i figure that out i will post some hands and I'm out.

Thank you for all of your ideas, it came down to 2 or 3 that sounded interesting but i think i will have the most fun with this one.

This is the goal that i am choosing but i am going to tweak a few things about it. I am going to start off with $200 playing .25/.50nl and see how far i can run that amount up to. I will be using very poor bank roll management but i think this will be pretty fun to see how high up i can get. Also instead of doing this for 100 days i am just going to do this for the next 30 days and see where I'm at after the the 30 days. I am going to try and deposit the money onto bodog just for a change of scenery and once i get the money on there i will start. I don't really have a set amount that I'm going for but i think i should be able to turn this 200 into at least 4-5 k by the end of the 30 days and hopefully higher. Keep in mind i am going to be playing with poor bank roll management but its only 200 bucks and anything after that will be a free roll.

As for my normal play i have just been killing it lately. I have been playing really good and the fact that I'm running like a god doesn't hurt. I'm not really in the mood to go back and look for all the hands from the weekend right now but i will try to get them up later on tonight.

That is right the goal is officially over. I actually finished it yesterday but was playing pretty late and didn't feel like staying up to make this post. I played for about 6 hours yesterday on full tilt and stars and had a pretty good session. I destroyed the games on full tilt and was doing the same on stars until i ran into a big hand where i got drawn out on and ended up breaking about even. I have had a lot of people asking me what i plan on buying once the goal is over and the answer is............ nothing haha. I have about 10k in student loans so i think i am probably just going to pay that off so i will have absolutely no debt when i move out to Vegas. I know its not the most exciting thing to do with the money but there isn't really anything i need or want at the moment. Plus i figure i might as well start saving up money for crank and midget prostitutes haha. As good as it feels to finish this goal i am already trying to come up with ideas for a new goal to start at the beginning of MAY. Having to post everyday gets kind of monotonous but i really think this goal was good for my game and kept me motivated to play my A game. I am thinking about offering like 20 bucks or something to the person who comes up with the best idea for a new goal so get your best ideas ready. I started playing poker so one day i would be able to pay people to think for me haha. Day 64/ quick post

Today i didn't quite get to play as long as i wanted to but i was still able to get a good 4 hour session in. I played 3 tables of 5/10nl and was able to finish in the green. I was playing some what aggressive today but the tables really seemed to be playing tight so i was able to pick up a ton of small pots. I don't think i really played any big pots but i will have to go back and look. I am going to play in the most insane .25/.50 cent game tonight so that should be pretty fun. I call it insane because last week there was over 1k in the pot and its very easy for someone to end up 2 or 300 and for a .25/.50 game that is just BONKERS. Day 63, what a grind....

Today i was able to put together a nice session of around 4 hours and it was pretty much just a long grind. I didn't really get involved in any big pots so it just seemed like i was grinding out a lot of small hands. It was kind of a roller coaster today because i think i was up then back down about 5 different times until finally finishing in the red. I'm kind of mad that i ended up in the red because i felt i was playing really well but made a pretty marginal call towards the end of my session which took me from having a small profit to having a small loss. Also i hadn't really been paying attention but i looked at my stats and i have been on a pretty good run lately winning about 80% of my sessions over the past few weeks. Anyways I'm starting to get tired so I'm going to wrap this up with a few hands from today and I'm out. This guy is a super aggressive player and raises any 2 cards but when he fired that big at the turn i put him on possible clubs and elected to see what the river brought instead of raising. The problem is when the A hits he probably had Ax of clubs and i guess my curiosity took over and i make a pretty bad call.

Longgg week/weekend.....

With the weather starting to get nice and the hockey playoffs i haven't really been able to find that much time for poker. I wanted to play in some tournaments today and maybe some cash games as well but its just to nice out to be sitting at the computer. The red wings are on at 9 so that pretty much means i wont be able to play tonight because i refuse to play anymore when i have been drinking a lot. Its not as though i have lost a lot when i have been drunk its the fact that i know i am not playing my best A game. I wish there was some way to put a Breathalyzer on my computer haha because i know i will be itchin to play later on tonight. I played a super long session today of about 15 minutes. I sat down and immediately wasn't in the mood to be playing so i just quit but not before winning a little bit of money. I think i only played like 2 pots during the time i played but i won them and was able to continue to chip away at the goal. Anyways my roommate just bought some sweet new grill so we are going to go fire that up and drink some beers, GO RED WINGS and I'm out.

I can see the finish line......day 61

I haven't posted in a few days and that's because i haven't played much up until today. I played for about an hour yesterday and lost a few hundred but didn't really feel like posting at all. I have had a busy few days and last night i played in possibly the sickest live .25/.50 cent game ever. The blinds are .25/.50 with 9 players and by the end of the night there was over 1k in the pot which is just sick for a game this low. Its such a good game because there is tons of action and some pretty deep stacks (for .25/.50) towards the end of the night. I was stuck for about 120 for a while but when morning rolled around i was up 20 bucks and drunk as fuck so it was a good night. Anyways back to the goal, today i put together a nice session on pstars of about 4 hours with some pretty good results. I didn't quite play as long as i would've liked to but the games started to get filled with tons of good players so i decided to call it a day. I am getting pretty close to the end of this goal and really hope that i will be able to finish off the goal by the end of the week. Although the weekend is coming up and i really seem to have a hard time finding time to play on the weekends so we'll see how that goes. Anyways the wings game is starting up here in a bit so i have to get my pre-game on but check back tomorrow and I'm out.

Day 59/ a grimey session

Today was a pretty long drawn out session. I played for around 5-6 hours on full tilt and pokerstars with some alright results. I guess just being in the green after today's donkfest feels pretty good. I started playing 2 tables on pokerstars and 1 table of 5/10nl on fulltilt and was immediately stuck for about 1500 on full tilt. It just seemed like everything i did within the first hour was blowing up in my face. If i raised i would get re raised every time, if i called i would completely miss every flop, and if i tried to bluff i would get like insta-called with middle pair no kicker. So after about an hour of getting my head kicked in and being stuck about 1500 i decided to just log off there and stick to pokerstars before i started to tilt. I logged back on after a few hours of cooling down and the original title of this post was going to be (i hate full tilt) but i am finishing up my 2nd stint on there today and am almost back to even somehow. Could the sopranos be more boring?

Well the first two episodes of the sopranos are starting off the way the first half of the season ended, incredibly boring. I am just really losing all interest in the show and its too bad because it was a really great show. I hope that they start to pick it up a little bit here or ill just be happy that the boringness is finally over when the series ends. I didn't really have any time to play much poker today so i just decided that i would wait until tomorrow to start up a good session. That combined with my raging hangover from a long night led me to believe that i just wouldn't be able to play my A game. I fooled around for a bit today playing some 5/10 H.O.R.S.E. and was actually able to win around 100 bucks which isn't bad because i think I'm pretty bad at a few of the games. For those of you that don't know HORSE is a game that is made up 5 different games- limit Hold em, Omaha high/lo, Razz, limit Stud, and Stud hi/lo. You play 1 round of each game which is usually around 8 hands and then the game switches to the next game and so on. I thought it was pretty fun just because its so many different variations of poker other than the usual no limit. I think that I'm pretty good at the hold em, Omaha hi/lo, and the razz, but i really feel that my stud game is incredibly weak so i will have to work on that. I only played 1 table of 5/10nl and a free roll tournament for the top VIP members on pokerstars which pays out 10,000 for first. I'm still in the tournament right now with about 270 players left with it paying the top 90 so we will see how that goes. I have a wedding reception to go to tonight which should be pretty fun so i wont have any time to play or post later. Today i played for about a half hour and then the tables started to get tough so i quit playing. They weren't really all that tough but about after a half hour of play i just wasn't really feelin in the poker mood so i decided to quit. Anyways i managed to win a little bit for only playing such a short amount of time so here are the few hands from today and I'm out.

There is no reason to reraise in this spot on the river because i am 100% sure he has a very weak hand and i wont get another penny out of him.

day 56/ let the playoff hockey begin...

That is right the Stanley cup playoffs started today and other than march madness this is the best time of the year to be a sports fan. Even though I'm pretty sure no one else really cares or might not even know what hockey is haha. Obviously i will be rooting for the red wings but the western conference is so stacked its going to be a tough road to the finals. Just getting through the 1st round is going to be hard, they play Calgary in the 1st round as an 8 seed which is the 1 team i didn't want to play in the first round because they are very physical and i hate to say it but Detroit is a team of pussy's. Anyways enough rambling on about the wings and to some poker. I put together a pretty good session today of about 5 hours and i was able to put up some good numbers. It started off pretty rocky being stuck about 500 in the first half hour but i managed to grind my way back into the green. Some reason there was no 5/10nl games going on full tilt so i played 3 tables of 5/10 on pokerstars. I hope to be able to play tomorrow but i have some running around to do during the day and the wings game starts at 7 so we will see how that goes. Day 54/ a big set back....

Today i didn't play any cash games but for some reason decided to play in some tournaments. I played in 4 tournaments on pokerstars the 150, 109, 22+re buys, and the softest tourney field in the world the 20 dollar heads up tourney. I managed to cash in the 150 and the 20 heads up but neither of the cashes were anything big so i think overall i ended up breaking about even on the day. I couldve easily cashed in the 22 re buy tourney too but my qq ran into kk in a blind vs. blind situation and really crippled me right before cashing. So i guess you could say overall today in terms of poker was a waste of time. I did set up another trip out to Vegas though for may 9 through the 16th so i feel like i accomplished a lot today haha. Today i finally played a session that lasted longer than 2 hours and played pretty well.
