8,000 dollar pot at the Wynn...

Before i get to the 8k pot i want to talk about a few non poker things that have been going on. I know i promised to get up the story of my trip across country with some pics and i still plan on doing so I've just been to lazy to write it. Ive been pretty busy with still getting my room set up,trying to sell my bravada, and looking for a new car. I found a really nice 2002 mustang convertible gt a few days ago and am currently in the process of buying it. I have never really been a huge car guy but i wanted a convertible and the gt just sounds a lot better than the V6. I should have the car by the beginning of next week and i will get some pictures of it along with some pics of our apartment. Alright on to this whole 8k pot that went down at the Wynn. I showed up there to play the usual 2/5 no cap but noticed the 5/10 game was full of bad players I've played with before so i decided to play 5/10. First let me tell you a little about the Wynn 5/10nl game, its not your standard 5/10 game. The game plays so deep stacked/pretty loose its pretty intimidating and plays more like a 10/20. The players were pretty weak but weren't shy about throwing around money with very mediocre hands. I regularly play 5/10 online and have played up to 25/50 but its just a totally different feel when you actually see the tens of thousands of dollars on the table compared to online. I bought into the game for 3300 and 5 of the other 8 players had me covered. I'm at the table and haven't really got involved in many pots but have worked my way up to about 4k when the following hand goes down. I'm in the bb with AK of spades and 5 people limp in and when it comes to me i CHECK. I'm usually raising here about 90% of the time but let me tell you why i decided to check here. 1) the first limper would limp then call any raise behind no matter how high u raised, 2)by him calling it would cause all the other limper's to follow behind and call, 3)AK isn't the greatest hand when u know you are going to be playing it against 5 other players out of position, and 4) the MAIN reason was that my hand would be so disguised that if i hit the right flop i know i will get paid. Well sure enough the flop comes down 10JQ with 2 spades giving me the flopped straight as well as nut/royal flush draw. I'm positive this flop hit someone so i lead out 40 dollars into the 60 pot and all hell breaks loose haha. First limper raises my 40 to 200, next player flat calls the 200, couple of folds to the guy on the button who re raises to 700! (talk about a dream scenario) When he re raises to 700 I'm pretty sure he has to have at least 89 here for a lower straight so i re raise him 1100 more. The other two players actually were thinking about calling haha but decide to fold back to the button. He has about 8k on the table and asks how much i have and before I'm even done counting he says what i was dying to hear "I'm all in." Obviously i call and he shows k9 for the 2nd nut straight and take down the 8400 dollar pot. Ive won some 4-5k pots (live) but this was by far the biggest live pot i have won (12k online) so far. I'm pretty sure i could be a consistent winner in the 5/10 game at the Wynn but it plays so deep its still a little intimidating. I'm going to continue to play 2/5 no cap and gradually work my way into the 5/10 games when they look weak. After yesterdays live session and a little 30 minute online 5/10 PLO session (1.6k)i was able to bring in around 7k on the day. I'm currently on pace to have around a 40k month which is absolutely nuts and a little silly for primarily playing 2/5. I hope i keep cruising along like this but variance will eventually set in soon enough and bring me back down to earth. Anyways just wanted to post my biggest live pot to date and give you a quick update on whats been going on out here in the desert. I will get some pics up in the next few days so check back for that and I'm out.
