Monthly update with some pics....

It has been a long time since i posted anything and am ready to get back into it. I will be trying to post everyday or at least every few days from now on. I am going to start a new goal at the beginning of October so that will give me a reason to have to post daily. Im not sure exactly what the goal will be but i want to make it pretty challenging so im thinking of something like 20k in a month. 6 months ago this wouldve sounded very difficult but being out here for a month now and playing the live games on a daily basis i think i have a shot at doing this. Im not saying that is the goal for sure yet but it will be something along those lines. As for online poker i havent really played that much since being out here so theres not too much to talk about. For some reason i havent been able to win at the 5/10 tables on stars but have been able to do very well at 10/20. I played in the 1,050 sunday tournament on stars and was able to come in 303rd place which paid 1,995. First place was 580,000( yeah thats in real money haha) and normally i would be mad about not getting deeper but i was real short stacked the whole tourney and was happy that i was able to be patient and grind it into the money.

Lets see.... what else has been going on over the past month. I got my new car which i really like and after having a car with a V8 i dont see how i can go back. The car i got is a 2003 mustang gt convertible and its pretty kick ass. I will put some pictures of it up sometime in the next week.

I went to the dmv the other day to get my Nevada license and failed horribly haha. I guess its not really that funny but i would be willing to bet that a lot of you who had to take this test would do the same. Its a 50 question road test and you are allowed to get 10 wrong but i only made it until the 33rd question before i failed. The questions seem like they are pretty easy until you read the 4 answers and they all sound like the right one. They really put the pressure on you by telling you how many you have wrong while you are still taking it, so after 15 questions i already had 7 wrong so i pretty much gave up at that point and was really suprised i made it to the 33rd question. You are allowed to go take it once a day until you pass but i havent been back since because i had to wait like an hour just to take the first one. The Dmv here is pretty crazy and it almost seems like ur at some kind of event. Its a huge room with people everywhere and there are different vendors there selling hot dogs and stuff it was a pretty funny scene.

This should be a pretty busy up coming month with people coming out to visit and some concerts and who knows what else. We have some friends (Wirtz Klan, Lauren "drinking machine" cassidy, Goone nick castillo, and C.moeller all coming into town at different times this month so it should be pretty fun all month long. And to cap off the month we will be going to see Rage against the machine at the Vegoose festival www.vegoose.com which i cant wait for. With all that going on next month the thing im looking most forward to is Mr. Jinx's birthday bash haha. He's going to be 5 years old at the end of october and i really cant believe that i have had him for 5 years now, im getting old.

The new season of curb started a few weeks ago and im a little disappointed. This is one of my favorite shows but i just think compared to past seasons its started off kind of weak. maybe its just me. Football has started back up which is good and bad. Its good because there is stuff to watch on the weekends and its bad because obviously i have to bet on the games to give me a reason to watch them haha. Normally this would be bad because i always lose when i bet games but i met someone out here who picks games for a living(supposedly) and have been listening to him. So far on the season i am 3-2-1 using his picks which isnt that great but its certainly better than being 0-6. Im going to continue to use his picks at 100 a game and will keep you updated on how im doing with that and put his picks up on the site before the games in case you want to see them/bet them. Also the nhl season is going to be starting up which i cant for. I will be getting the nhl package which is only like 150 for the whole season ( which is a great deal) and you get every teams game so you get to see at least a few shootouts a night. It sucks i cant watch the wings games in HD which ive come accustomed to but its better than not seeing them at all.

Alright well this post is getting way too long so im going to finish it up with a couple of pics of the apartment. These are just a couple of quick pictures i took of our set up and my bedroom. I will be starting to post on a daily basis and am going to try and make the posts more entertaining rather than just babbling on about poker talk. So start checking back more frequently to see whats new and im out. Here are some pictures for your entertainment and im out.

My office- still not set up i will put another pic up when its done

Crappy pic of my room, this pic makes it look small which its not and i still have a lot to do in it so i will put a updated one sometime soon.

Kitchen-

Dining room table-

Living room-

Our balcony which is HUGE, 20 people could comfortably be out here at a time.

Jinx passed out on the floor yelling" Im Rich Bitcchhhhh"

I never really noticed how bad these pics came out but i will get some better ones up soon. They really make everything look a lot smaller than they are but i dont know how to fix it so you will just have to take my word for it. Like i said before i am going to start making the site more entertaining with pics, videos, and anything else i can think of. Well thats enough for today and hopefully that makes up for my months hiatus but start checking backing daily and im out.

8,000 dollar pot at the Wynn...

Before i get to the 8k pot i want to talk about a few non poker things that have been going on. I know i promised to get up the story of my trip across country with some pics and i still plan on doing so I've just been to lazy to write it. Ive been pretty busy with still getting my room set up,trying to sell my bravada, and looking for a new car. I found a really nice 2002 mustang convertible gt a few days ago and am currently in the process of buying it. I have never really been a huge car guy but i wanted a convertible and the gt just sounds a lot better than the V6. I should have the car by the beginning of next week and i will get some pictures of it along with some pics of our apartment. Alright on to this whole 8k pot that went down at the Wynn. I showed up there to play the usual 2/5 no cap but noticed the 5/10 game was full of bad players I've played with before so i decided to play 5/10. First let me tell you a little about the Wynn 5/10nl game, its not your standard 5/10 game. The game plays so deep stacked/pretty loose its pretty intimidating and plays more like a 10/20. The players were pretty weak but weren't shy about throwing around money with very mediocre hands. I regularly play 5/10 online and have played up to 25/50 but its just a totally different feel when you actually see the tens of thousands of dollars on the table compared to online. I bought into the game for 3300 and 5 of the other 8 players had me covered. I'm at the table and haven't really got involved in many pots but have worked my way up to about 4k when the following hand goes down. I'm in the bb with AK of spades and 5 people limp in and when it comes to me i CHECK. I'm usually raising here about 90% of the time but let me tell you why i decided to check here. 1) the first limper would limp then call any raise behind no matter how high u raised, 2)by him calling it would cause all the other limper's to follow behind and call, 3)AK isn't the greatest hand when u know you are going to be playing it against 5 other players out of position, and 4) the MAIN reason was that my hand would be so disguised that if i hit the right flop i know i will get paid. Well sure enough the flop comes down 10JQ with 2 spades giving me the flopped straight as well as nut/royal flush draw. I'm positive this flop hit someone so i lead out 40 dollars into the 60 pot and all hell breaks loose haha. First limper raises my 40 to 200, next player flat calls the 200, couple of folds to the guy on the button who re raises to 700! (talk about a dream scenario) When he re raises to 700 I'm pretty sure he has to have at least 89 here for a lower straight so i re raise him 1100 more. The other two players actually were thinking about calling haha but decide to fold back to the button. He has about 8k on the table and asks how much i have and before I'm even done counting he says what i was dying to hear "I'm all in." Obviously i call and he shows k9 for the 2nd nut straight and take down the 8400 dollar pot. Ive won some 4-5k pots (live) but this was by far the biggest live pot i have won (12k online) so far. I'm pretty sure i could be a consistent winner in the 5/10 game at the Wynn but it plays so deep its still a little intimidating. I'm going to continue to play 2/5 no cap and gradually work my way into the 5/10 games when they look weak. After yesterdays live session and a little 30 minute online 5/10 PLO session (1.6k)i was able to bring in around 7k on the day. I'm currently on pace to have around a 40k month which is absolutely nuts and a little silly for primarily playing 2/5. I hope i keep cruising along like this but variance will eventually set in soon enough and bring me back down to earth. Anyways just wanted to post my biggest live pot to date and give you a quick update on whats been going on out here in the desert. I will get some pics up in the next few days so check back for that and I'm out.

Killing every table in sight.......

Thats right for the past 10 days i have been in operation stackola mode haha. The past 10 days of poker have been pretty sick and i have gone on a rediculous heater( for playing only 2/5). Over the past week or so i have managed to rack up about a 11k profit which is nice since i really have only played one session over 6 hours. I have been playing mainly live at the wynn during my rush but i managed to squeeze in a few hours of online the past couple days and killed it for like 3.5k. There are a few games that have been tough but for the most part once i have been able to find the right table, with the right fish, its been a massacre. Its not like ive been on a sick run of cards either its just been solid play and having horrible players pretty much handing me money left and right. Yesterday i got a guy to push all in into a pot of 80 dollars for 1700 more when i had top set haha. Heres the hand- supertight idiot raises to 25 in early position, folds around to me on the button with kings and i just flat call. Flop comes down kj2, he checks and im about 99% sure he has a huge hand so i bet out 30 making the pot around 80, he Instantly goes all in for 1700 more, i call immediately but this time theres no bad beat story, i win the 3600 pot. That is an extreme example of how bad the play is out here but the live games are so much softer than online its insane. I finally got a new desktop a couple of days ago so im still in the process of puttiing pictures up and giving you the whole story of my comedic trip across country. Im also going to look at a new car tomorrow so if i end up getting it(2002 mustang convertible gt) i will post those and some pics of our apartment set up. Anyways i just wanted to give you a quick update on how poker has been going out here and i will post more about my non poker life in the next couple days. Its going to be a long post so i might try and break it down into a few sections but we'll see. Well im about to head out so check back in a few days and im out.

Don't worry im still alive....

I'm sure you have been wondering where i have been or why i haven't been posting but don't worry I'm still alive. I plan on writing up a good post with the whole story of where i have been, pictures, and how things are going out here but i don't have the time right now so I'm giving you a quick update. My dad and i left for Vegas on the 2nd of august and didn't end up getting to Vegas until the 10th! This was originally going to be a 3 day drive with us stopping and not getting here in a big rush but it turned into the trip from hell. The whole trip was almost like something you would only see in a movie, everything you can imagine that could go wrong did. Ill get into detail about everything in the next post. As for Vegas its amazing out here, besides the insane heat. Live poker has been going great and I've been killing it. Another problem i ran into is getting my money out here(still haven't done yet) so i was just able to start playing like only 5 days ago. The games have been incredibly soft and after only like 3 real sessions(4hours+) I'm up about 3500 which is just sick playing only 2/5. I got into a nice 3k pot yesterday but ill have to give you the details in the next post. Anyways i just figured i would write up something real quick to assure you that I'm not dead haha. We're about to go see Super Bad right now at the palms so check back in the next few days and ill have the blog up and running again with daily posts.

Vegas Baby!!!!!!

That's right tomorrow is the big moving day and I'm pretty excited. I haven't been able to post at all lately because i have had a million things to do but i almost have everything ready and i cant wait. My dad and i will be leaving to drive to Vegas tomorrow and even though I'm not looking forward to the drive i still think its going to be really fun. I'm looking forward to just getting out on the road and checking out the country and its also going to allow me to spend some good quality time with my dad. We are leaving some time tomorrow evening and should probably arrive in Vegas sometime on Friday. Its only around a 30 hour drive but we aren't in a huge rush to get out there so we will probably stop a few times on the way. Also from what i have seen and heard our apartment http://www.forrent.com/apartment-community-profile/1010338.php?CMP=OTC-SMX looks like its going to be pretty sick. I will be paying a little extra a month to get the master bedroom but i think its going to be well worth it. The only shitty part is that you are supposed to pay a fee every month if you have pets so we are going to have to smuggle Jinx into the apt and keep him on the down low, (not jinx's style). Our place is about a 10 minute drive to the strip which should be perfect, not on the strip so we cant get to0 sick of it and not too far away from the action. My dad will be staying until Tuesday when we get out there and i cant wait to just show him a good time out there before he has to leave. I think I'm going to get tickets to a show for us to check out but i really haven't looked into them so i have no clue which one to choose yet. We still have a few things to take care of tomorrow morning so I'm going to try and wrap this up. I'm not to sure when the next time i post will be but check back like Sunday or Monday and i should have something up. Also i will try to get up some pics of our place and my car whenever i buy one out there. Next time i post i will be a Nevada resident (weird) so check back Sunday or Monday and I'm out.

P.S.- The bodog goal is off. That site is absolute shit and I'm just waiting to get out there so i can have them send me all my money off their joke of a site. I only have like 2.5k on there but i really haven't played there in like 3 weeks and i just hate it there. I only took the goal serious for about a week where i got up to almost 6k then just hated playing there.

I will be thinking of new goals to start when i get out there, until then I'm out.
Any ideas you have just throw them out there, maybe something with live poker our tournaments for this one.

Long post/7 hour donkfest and nothing to show for it.........

Today i decided i would donk it up and play some of the Sunday tournaments but couldn't really get anything going. I played in the 215 Sunday million on stars, the 215 heads up matches on stars, and the 215 500k guaranteed on full tilt. In the Sunday million i built up a nice stack after the first couple hours but made a horrible play and it really cost me my tournament. I played the hand so horribly I'm actually to embarrassed to talk about it haha. I wish i knew how to get hands from tournaments so i could just show you the link to the hand but i don't know how to do it. Very quick summary- blinds 400/800 i have about 25k and the idiot has about 30k. I raise from the button to 2200 with 99 and the BB calls. flop is 632 he bets out the minimum 800, i raise it up to 3200, he min re raises me to 6400 i just call. Turn is a 3 and he now bets out a tiny 1600, for some stupid reason i decide to just call and I'm still wondering why i did this. River comes down a 6 so the board is 66332 he bets out like 4500 and stupidly i call knowing he has something like 65 and he shows 67 off to take the pot. That put me at like 6000 in chips and i pushed 99 into ak and aq all in pre but obviously i lost so i finished in like 2700th or something weak. The next tournament was the heads up matches where i was also cruising along in until i ran into Scott Fischman aka bad playing luck sack. I won my 1st 2 matches pretty easily and was onto the 3rd round where i had to play against fischman. He has had some pretty good results in tournaments in stuff but i really felt his play against me was very weak and if i didn't get out drawn every hand i couldve won. He was just playing aggressive preflop but very passive post and would just chase me down every time no matter what i bet and would hit 2 pair or any card he needed. I needed to win this match to make the top 32 and into the money but obviously i couldn't get it down when he called my kings down with bottom pair to hit a straight. I think i played pretty well today in the stars tournaments but just couldn't get anything going. In the 500k full tilt tournament i was able to make a pretty deep run but came up short once again. There were about 3300 players with it paying the top 470 and i managed to finish in like 130th for about 620 or something. I just don't understand how these tourney players can stand playing in them all the time. You pretty much have to final table any of these events to make any real money and that's just hard to do on a consistent basis. Today i played for about 7 hours just to break about even and i just don't know how tourney players can do it. Anyways enough poker talk and onto this weekends events. Friday night i went over to a friends house(goudy) who was having a party before boat night and it was a pretty fun night. For some strange reason i don't think it was as packed as usual but i still had a really fun time from what i remember. When Saturday night rolled around i was actually looking forward to the week being over, i feel so old haha. I had been paryting pretty hard since Tuesday and was just ready for the weekend to be over with so i could rest my body and liver haha. A few people and i went over to see Def Leppard over in sarnia at bay fest and they put on a really good show, better than aerosmith. I have seen def leppard before at DTE but they definitely rocked and i would have to say they probably put on the best concert of anyone i have seen other than maybe kid rock. That pretty much sums up my busy weekend and unfortunately i have another busy week ahead. I leave for Las Vegas on like the 30th or 31st to make the big move and i still have a million things i have to take care off. So with that being said i have to get up early tomorrow(by 1) and do tons of running around so I'm going to call it a night. Check back tomorrow to see what i got going on and i will let the smooth sounds of bobby light take it from here and I'm out.

Toronto/Aerosmith

I haven't been posting in the past few days because i have been over in crazy land(Canada). Toronto is a really cool city but i just don't think i would be able to deal with how far behind they are compared to the good ol u.s. of a. It just feels like when you go over there you are going back in time by like 20 years. They just run everything so inefficiently, everything is over priced, and it seems as though they just go out of their way to be different than the u.s. Alright enough of the Canada rant and on to the Toronto trip. We were only there for 2 nights but we did a lot of stuff in the short amount of time. We went and checked out the hockey hall of fame which was really cool but it was kind of funny because it was in like a strip mall haha. I guess i was just expecting it to be some really nice building and didn't expect it to be connected to a Starbucks. I got some pictures that i will have to try and put up, including one with the Stanley cup. Our hotel was only a few streets over from yonge st. so we were able to walk to all kinds of different bars and it was a pretty fun time. The only part that really sucked was their lack of alcohol and alcohol knowledge. Every bar we went to had like no liquor, everything tasted completely watered down, and they had no idea on how to make any drinks or shots. We went to this bar that looked pretty nice down in their main bar district and i asked for a 7&7 and they looked at me like i was retarded. The girl even asked the owner who was standing by the bar and they both said that they have never even heard of the drink haha. I could understand if i said some weird type of drink but a 7&7? I'm not positive but i think its one of the most common drinks ever created. Toronto was a pretty fun time but after 2 nights of intense boozing i was ready to get back to the u.s and relax...... Well that was the plan until my roommate told me he had an extra Aerosmith ticket and it was back over to Canada. Aerosmith is one of those bands that i was thinking would be great to see because they are one of the biggest rock bands ever but all in all i was pretty disappointed with their performance. They didn't really sound that great, they played a ton of their slower songs, and Steven Tyler was pretty lame. I'm sure it would've been great to see them like 20 years ago but i just wasn't impressed with the show they put on. Fortunately for me we had been downing tons of drinks so you would've probably thrown any band up there and i still would've had a fun time. Also i haven't seen Tyler on TV or anything in a few years and when i saw him on the big screen i noticed he looks like an old woman haha. http://www.starpulse.com/Music/Tyler,_Steven/gallery/TTO-002724/ he kind of looks like a younger Joan rivers. It was still a really fun time at the concert but i guess i just expected more out of aerosmith. Anyways tonight is boat night so I'm about to head over to the pregame and start boozin so check back in the next few days and I'm out.

Busy/fun week coming up......

Between going to Toronto for a few days, bayfest http://www.sarniabayfest.com/, and boat night i think this is going to be a really fun week. On Saturday night after a "few" drinks a couple friends(heyboer and goudy) and i decided that we need to go up to Toronto for a couple days during this week. I'm not to sure what gave us this idea(shots of cabo wabo) but Toronto is a really cool city and I'm pretty excited to get out of town and take a break from poker for a few days. I ran into a stretch of a few weeks where i was really burned out from poker and didn't feel like playing at all but now I'm back into the swing of things and have been playing great poker. Yesterday i decided to play some real poker and stayed away from the donkaments after last weeks mess. I only played for a few hours at the 5/10 games but was able to win about 1.5k which is pretty good for the little amount of time i played. My stereo receiver that i ordered a http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/onkyo-tx-sr605-black/4505-6466_7-32430579.html while ago just got here so I'm going to wrap this up and go screw around with that for a while. Anyways this is going to be a busy week so I'm not sure of when the next time i will be posting but check back in a few days and I'm out.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1269880 - this was the only big pot from yesterday and i make a pretty good call here. When he limped in then called my raise i immediately put him on a mid pair like 10s. I actually thought about re raising the flop here but i was pretty sure he did have a mid pair and i think the only way my re raise gets called is by a hand that beats me. The 6 was a bad turn because i had him on some sort of mid pair which means now I'm only beating 77,88,1010. The heart on the river didn't change anything because i didn't have him on the draw and i don't think he would just limp in mid position with a pair of jacks. With that being said its still 500 bucks to call when theoretically there are only 3 hands i can beat, the 77,88, and 10s. I thought for a while and just had to go with my read which was right but it was still a tough call to make.

comcast fucked me

Their Internet service has actually been really good in terms of not ever disconnecting but sure enough i get disconnected at the worst possible time. A few nights ago i decided i would donk it up and play a few tournaments so i played in the 150 and the 22 + re buys. I was actually cruising along in both of them until my kk lost to 99 all in preflop in the 150 and i went out shortly after this in like 170th(paid top 120) or something. After playing in this re buy tournament for about 4 or 5 hours i find myself in the money and looking to final table it............. until the fucking Internet goes out. At first I'm thinking okay maybe just pokerstars disconnected for a minute and everything will be fine, after about 5 minutes i decide to call comcast and they tell me it should be fixed by the morning haha gg me. The tournament paid like 9k for first, paid the top 45, and when i got disconnected there were only 27 players left. It was pretty frustrating having to go to bed knowing i was still in the tournament just getting blinded out after it took me like 5 hours to get up to that point. I guess i ended up finishing in 20th which paid like 240 but once again i get deep in a tourney and this time i didn't even get the chance to screw it up haha, I'm starting to think that I'm not meant to win one of these. That happened on Monday night and i haven't really played much poker at all since then. I played a few hours on stars yesterday and the games were playing pretty soft so i was able to win about 1.5k. Well i just wanted to give you a quick update and now I'm starting to ramble so I'm going to wrap this up. I'm not to sure about how much i will be playing this weekend but check back later and I'm out.

Day 25/ a video that always cheers me up after a shitty day

This is going to be super short because today pretty much sucked ass and i don't feel like posting at all. I played on bodog for about an hour but decided to log off after about an hour before i went on extreme tilt. There was this total idiot sitting to my left who would call any preflop raise with hands like k2 74off and just hit at least 2 pair on every flop and it just pissed me off so i quit. I dropped about 1k on bodog when i tried to bluff this retard and sure enough he happens to have aces the only time i try making a move on him haha. I played on stars for like an hour as well and made around 400 or something but overall the day in poker WAS shitty. I say was because every once in a while when i feel like i played terrible or am just mad about my days play i watch this gem and realize it could be much worse. Here is "PRO" (notice the quotation marks)player Jennifer Tilly showing some of her higher level thinking that makes her a "pro". The looks on the real pros face's is priceless, enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN6wAHTWeEA

the "i thought you had kings" along with iveys dumbfounded look is priceless.

Day 24/ Pretty bad day across the board

Let me start off by saying that today pretty much sucked ass. I didn't cash in any of the tournaments, couldn't get anything going playing Omaha, and played for like 3 hours on bodog before calling it quits at even. I could never really get anything going in the Sunday million but in all 3 of the others i got it all in as a slight favorite and lost all 3 coin flips. Its pretty frustrating that i wasn't able to cash at all today but if i would've got any of my hands to hold up i think i would've had a decent day. The Omaha tables were playing softer than ever as usual but i couldn't pick up any hands/ get my hands to hold up so i dropped about 700 there too. I guess the only bright side of the day was breaking even on bodog after i was down about 800 at one point. Anyways the losing posts just aren't as fun as the winning ones haha so check back tomorrow and I'm out.

Goal/bodog- 3,119.84

Day 23 i think.../ sunday donkaments

I haven't really played on bodog in about a month until yesterday so I'm just going to say I'm on day 23. This goal has pretty much been off for a while but i guess i will just finish off the next week to get it out of the way. Bodogs software is so shitty i just hate to even look at it and really don't even like the site at all. After this final week is up i think i am probably just going to take all my money off there. The games are incredibly soft there but for how shitty the software is it just doesn't make up for it. Some how i managed to quietly win about 2600 yesterday which was pretty nice since i didn't really realize that i was up that much when i quit. I played 1 table of 5/10nl on bodog, 3 tables of 5/10nl on stars, murdered some Omaha tables, and capped it off with yet another deep disappointing tournament finish. The tournament i went deep again was the 100 dollar which had like 350 ppl, 9k for first, and paid the top 36 players. I managed to bust out again in 18th place which is just very frustrating because if i would've just won a coin flip i probably would've final tabled it. I think it paid like 390 or something to the top 18 but these tournaments pay so top heavy that if you don't make the final table you're really not going to make much. Anyways that's just a quick update of yesterdays play and check back later to see how i did in today's tournaments. I plan on playing the same line up as last week - 215 Sunday million, 55 3k in chips, 215 2nd chance, and the 109 3k in chips. I might throw another tournament in there but well see, check back later tonight and I'm out.

Becoming a tourney donk.

Well not exactly but over the past week i have been playing mainly tournaments. I haven't exactly been playing a ton of poker this week but have had some decent results in a few tournaments. I really think my tournament game is getting better by the day but i just don't think tournaments are for me. Ive had 3 pretty deep runs in tournaments over the past few days but once again I'm left disappointed going out just before the final tables. Last night i played in the stars 300 dollar Wednesday which paid like 40k for first and paid the top 60 players out of around 600. I busted out in 20th place which did pay like 1100 or something but its really starting to get frustrating that i cant close the deal in one of these or at least final table it. Anyways I'm getting ready to head to harsens island for the night/maybe weekend just thought i would give a quick update on the disappointing week in poker. Not to sure when the next time i play or post is going to be so check back in a few days and I'm out.

p.s. - anyone who wants to get owned on some 200 dollar coin flips let me know haaha.(drunken mess) cliff notes- really wasted at like 5 in the morning me and my friend(we'll keep his name anonymous) started off doing 50 dollar coin flips which ended in me winning 600 on the night. I really out played him by picking heads every time haha.

Sunday= me playing donkaments(tournaments) all day

I just busted out of my final tournament of the day but i was very close to having a big day. Altogether on the day i played a total of 4 tournaments but only cashed in 1 of them. The four tournaments that i played in today were the 215 Sunday million, 55 6 handed, 109 3k in chips, and the 215 2nd chance for a total of around 600 in buy ins. I was playing really well in all the tournaments but took 2 really sick beats that knocked me out of the 55 and the 215. 1st bad beat, i get it all in preflop against 2 other players who have JJ and ak and the flop was K107 a good flop for my kings, sure enough the turn is a 8 and the river is a 9 giving the jacks a running straight haha. Needless to say i wasn't very happy about this because i wouldve been the chip leader of the whole tournament but instead i was out. I built up some pretty big stacks in all four of the tournaments and really think i would've did some damage if i would've got a few all ins to hold up. The tournament that i did manage to cash in was the 215 Sunday and luckily for me this is the largest tournament on the net. There were about 7000 players all putting up 215 with first place paying a nice 190k and it paid the top 1080 players. I really played well the whole tournament but ended up busting out in 92nd place. Overall i am very happy with my play in the tournament but I'm not going to lie the 192,000 would've been just a little nicer than the 1,800 i got for 92nd. I was really hoping that this was going to finally be my big score but as long as i keep getting myself deep into tournaments i will bust through eventually. I ended up making around 1200 on the day which is pretty nice compared to some of the other Sunday's i have had. Well I've been playing in the tournament since 4 and I'm pretty sick of sitting in front of the computer so check back tomorrow and I'm out.

P.S.- I am going to try and finish up the last week of my bodog goal . I haven't played on there at all over the past 3 weeks but i think i have like 2500 on there or something so we will see how high i can get that back up to in the next week.

I phone mania!!!!! and a very good day on stars

I'm usually not the kind of person to get caught up in the hype of new things but i have to admit the i phone looks pretty sweet. I have had the same shitty phone for like 4 years now mainly because i was waiting for some great new technology to come out and it looks like it might have arrived. I wasn't foolish enough to go wait in lines for hours or anything but i think after all the madness settles down i am going to have to pick one of these up. For those of you who have been under a rock the past week or so here is a link to the futurehttp://www.apple.com/iphone/.
Enough about iphone and onto some poker talk. As you can already tell by the title i did have a pretty good day on stars and was playing great poker. Yesterday i played great no limit and Omaha for about 5 hours and ended up with nothing to show for it, very frustrating. I did make about 500 yesterday but it very easily would've been a 4k day but i took two very sick beats towards the end of my session. I got some idiot to go all in preflop for 1k with ak vs. my KK and sure enough he catches his ace on the flop and i lose 1k. Next in omaha i was killing the games and sure enough i get it all in with the nuts against this idiot who couldn't fold and he rivered out a flush on me when he was getting no odds to call. I still haven't got my desktop fixed so I'm on my laptop which sucks because i really want to show you these 2 hands from yesterday and just how sick they were. Yesterday was very frustrating but i knew i was playing great and these things are going to happen sometimes. Today i was playing great and unlike yesterday i actually have some money to show for it. I didn't really feel like going out tonight so i was able to play for about 9 hours which is by far the most I've played in a while. I was 3 tabling the 5/10nl and was able to make about 3k doing that. Also i played in the nightly 150 that paid the top 90 (i busted in 102nd lame)out of 700 players and i also played in a 77 buy in 6 handed tourney. I was playing well and catching some cards at key points and managed to finish in 2nd place out of about 250 players. The 2nd place paid like 2,500 or something but i really wanted the win more than anything. I think first was like 3700 or something but my first tourney win would've been worth way more than the money. Another 2nd place is kind of disappointing but I'm very happy with how i played and if i keep putting myself deep in tournaments i have to eventually break through and win one. Overall on the day between cash games and tournaments i pulled in around 5500 so i cant complain, even though i really wanted to win that tournament. Anyways I'm pretty beat so I'm about to pass out and check back tomorrow to see what i got goin on.

Back from Vegas.........

I returned home from Vegas a few days ago but haven't really got around to posting about it yet. My original plan was to take my laptop out there and give some updates during the trip but i managed to take the laptop but forget my wireless card. Besides completely bombing in the 1500 w.s.o.p. tourney i had a really great time out there as usual. When i got out there i still wasn't sure if i was going to play in the wsop event or just play like 3 venetian 500 tourneys but once i actually got to the Rio and saw the wsop craziness it made me want to play. Unfortunately for me though i obviously went completely card dead in the tourney and after like 4 hours of folding i got all in with A7 vs. J10 off preflop and lost. It just sucked being so card dead because i couldn't really get in any rhythm and when i tried to make any kind of steals/moves someone was coming back over the top of me all in. My buddy (Moeller) was able to cash in the tournament http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/tourney/event.asp?tourneyID=3465&groupID=309 and finished in 268 so that was pretty cool, here's the link at the bottom of the page he is under craig mUeller haha. Honestly though when i did bust out of the tourney i was kind of relieved because now i could get back to the cash games and make some real money. I played 2/5 no cap at the Wynn most of the time and was able to put together some pretty good numbers for the limited amount of time i played. The games were playing pretty soft as usual and i was able to win around 2500 during the week which paid for my tourney and my trip. If i wouldn't have played in the tourney i would say it was a good week of poker but i guess it was fun just to say i played in a wsop tourney. The trip was pretty poker related so i don't have too many ridiculous stories. I did learn a new dance called dealing the cards( wish i had a video of) i spent 100 dollars on bottle service at a strip club only to get up and leave 2 minutes later( too drunk) and have about 1k that i have no clue where it went or what i spent it on. It was a great time out there but once again we were unable to find/even look for apartments so i think that i might go back out there in a few weeks. Well that pretty much sums up our trip out there and I'm about to start playing online so check back later to see how that went and I'm out.

Vegas Baby!!!

Tomorrow night we will be leaving for Vegas and i cant wait to get there. I don't know why but i feel more pumped up for this trip to Vegas more than the other times I've been out there. I think a major factor is I've been working on my tournament game the past few weeks and for once i actually feel confident going into tournaments. I have been running pretty deep into some tourneys lately and hopefully that will carry over into the w.s.o.p.. I plan on playing in the 500$ deep stack tourney at the venetian on Friday and then playing in the 1500$ wsop tourney on Saturday, if i don't final table the venetian tourney. I was thinking of not playing in the wsop tourney and only playing the venetian tourneys but i like my tourney game right now and wouldn't mind picking up a bracelet haha. Also my buddy(hodge) and i are going to be looking for apartments while i am out there so that is kind of exciting. I will be taking my laptop out there this trip so i will try to put up some posts of what we are up to and how we are doing in the tourney. It really sucks not having my desktop work because it really has limited my play the past week by only being able to play 2 tables at a time. Also i cant put up any hands but over the past few days I've got killed on bodog for about 2k, dropped around 1k on FT, and up around 2k on pokerstars. I really wish i was playing on my laptop because i have been taking some horrific beats over the past few days on bodog and FT. I keep getting it all in as a huge favorite and people are just hitting 3 or 4 outers on the river every time against me, its actually getting pretty funny on how i am losing some of these pots. Anyways i still have to get everything ready for tomorrow so I'm about to go to bed so check back within the next few days to see what kind of shenanigans we are up to and I'm out.

Another disappointing sunday.....

Once again i played in both of the big Sunday tournaments on stars and full tilt and was unable to cash in either. In the stars tournament i just couldn't get anything at all going. I picked up aces and kings within the first hour but obviously both times i raised everyone insta folded and every time i didn't want action i got it. Also out of the 6500 people in the tournament you would think i would be at a table of nobodies but of course i had to good 25/50 regulars at my table so that sucked. I only made it half way through the 2nd hour of play before getting all in with 77 vs. kk. gg me and gg $370. The full tilt tournament was a $530 buy in and was giving away around 140 seats with about 300 entrants. My table was pretty weak so i was able to pick up some small pots until this hand came up. The blinds were at 30/60 and we both had a little over 3k in chips at this point. I have 77 utg so i limp in, it folds around to the bb who was a weak player but was raising a lot of pots, i just call. Flop comes down aj7 rainbow and i decide to fire out a kind of small bet of around 150 into the 450 pot and he just calls. The turn is a 6 of hearts and with the pot around 750 i bet out like 450 hoping to get raised but yet he just calls again. The river comes down the 3 of hearts making the board aj763 with now 3 hearts and I'm still very confident in my set. I bet out like 800 on the river praying to get called and wouldn't u know it he instantly min raises it to 1600?? As soon as he did this i was 100% sure i was beat but i just don't see how i can throw it away at this point so i call, he turns over j9 of hearts for a runner runner flush so sick. That left me with like 300 chips but i was able to build back up to around 3k before getting it all in with aq vs. ak gg me. It was another pretty disappointing Sunday in the big tournaments but luckily i had played some plo on both sites before the tournaments and was able to win my buy ins. The big tournaments didn't go well but i did play in a $55 tourney while i was playing the others and made a pretty deep run. There were like 1200 people in it with first paying 14k and i got all the way down to 23rd place for a weak $230, disappointing. I am disappointed because i feel like i keep getting so close but end up busting out for barely any money but at the same time I'm very happy with how Ive been playing. I think that with all these deep runs i am due for a final table and no better time than while i am in Vegas next week. Well that sums up yesterdays mess and I'm about to start up a session so check back later for that and I'm out.

Hacked!

That's right, some how i think i managed to put a virus onto my desktop yesterday. I'm not really a big computer tech guy so I'm not 100% sure but i believe i might have put a key logger on it. A key logger is a program people can put onto your computer without you knowing and it allows them to see everything that you are typing. Obviously this isn't a good thing to have on your computer and its been really freaking me out because of all my passwords i have on my CPU. I am on my laptop right now which i think is secure but its sucks because i can only play like 2 tables at a time. Also i don't really feel like having to run around to best buy or computer stores to get this fixed right before i leave for Vegas on Wednesday. Anyways that is the recent problem i have been dealing with and has pretty much limited me to little or no play. I did play some PLO yesterday on full tilt and was able to pull in close to 2k which was nice since i started off down like 700. All the sites today are having their huge main event tournaments so i will be playing in them and hopefully can win a seat. Pokerstars is giving away at least 150, Full tilt is giving away 100, and i haven't looked yet to see what bodog is doing. Last year i got pretty deep into both of these tourneys but came up short so hopefully i can win a seat this year. I haven't played any tourneys yet that give away seats to the main event because i could really care less about playing in it. Even if i cash in one of the tournaments today i am just going to keep the 10k instead of playing in the main event. Anyways that's just a quick update on what i have been up to and check back later to see how i did today.

Beat....

I havent really had time to post or play poker over the past few days so I'm giving a very quick post about where I've been. Between me being really busy the past few days and going to Toronto I'm just wiped out today. I went to Toronto when i was younger but this was the first time being there since being old enough to do cool stuff and its a really awesome city. My dad and i stayed up there for the night right off of yonge st.(main strip) and we had a great time barhopping haha. I really liked the feel of the city and it ALMOST kind of felt like i was in Vegas, just totally different compared to big u.s. cities I've been to. Anyways i am really tired from last night but i plan on getting in a good session tomorrow so check back for that and im out.

Almost forgot- that tournament i was still in the other night i ended up going out in 58th place out of like 1500 people which only paid like 160. It was a 11+re buys tourney and i was only in for 20 bucks so i guess that's ok but i was playing more for the practice before i go out to Vegas than the money. I'm kind of happy with the way i played but unless I'm making the final table of a tournament i think of anything less as a waste of time.

Day 20/Long day.....

Today was probably one of the longest days of poker that i have played(online) in a really long time. I didn't really play much nl cash games but played tons of plo and ran kind of deep into a few tournaments. The plo games were insane today with me having swings from being up 1500, down 800, and then back up again. After playing plo all day i decided to take a break from that and try to get a little tournament practice before Vegas. The tournaments i played in today were the 162, 22+ re buys, 109,11+re buys, and a 20 heads up tourney all on stars. I only managed to cash in 2 of the tournaments but i think i played pretty well and if a few of my hands held up i think i couldve easily cashed in 4 of them. I cashed in the 162 tournament for like 480 after finishing 38th out of 909 people which is okay but the 30k for 1st would be a lot nicer. The other tournament that i cashed in is the 11+ re buys which i am still playing in right now so lets hope i can finally take one of these down. There were 1600 people with first place paying 12k and we are down to like 220 right now with around an average chip stack. Well I'm going to concentrate on finishing this thing up and i will let you know tomorrow how i did. In case you were wondering what happened to my Sunday tournaments update i busted out of the 215 in about 10 minutes and just unregistered all my other tourneys and called it a day. Here are some of the hands from today and I'm out.

Weekend summary/Sunday tournaments

I only played for a few hours over the weekend but was still able to lose some good money haha. Friday i played some 5/10nl on bodog for a few hours and was playing really well but ended up down a few hundred. I made a pretty stupid call within like the first 10 minutes of sitting down which ended up costing me 1k. I was kind of in the mood to gamble and thought i had more outs than i did but i was wrong and it pretty much ruined any chance of me having a good session. So after starting off 1k in the hole i buckled down, played some good ABC/boring style of poker, and was able to almost get back to even. Yesterday i decided to play some 3/6 omaha on fulltilt and was playing well but kept getting river fucked. David Chiu and Aaron Bartley were at my table and for being the " Full tilt pros" i was not impressed with their games at all. I'm not saying that they are bad players but i definitely think i can and was holding my own against them. Unfortunately for me i guess having your name in red and being a "FT pro" means that you run like god and hit every draw you are chasing. After a few hours of getting sucked out on i decided to call it quits on FT with around a 1.5k loss, which sucks because i really felt i was playing good. Last night after about 20 beers and shots at thebar i decide that some 3/6 omaha on stars sounds like a good idea haha. I'm looking through the hand histories right now and it doesn't look like i played that bad and actually made around 700 in just over an hour. Anyways the Sunday tournaments are about to start so i have to cut this short, check back to later to see how i did today and I'm out.

Day 18/ another unproductive day..

Today pretty much went like the last 3 days in terms of poker, i wake up thinking i want to play then after about an hour I'm just not feeling it. I know its due to the nice weather but I'm going to have to try and get used to it since ill be living in Vegas in a few months. I played for around 2 hours today on all 3 sites with some mixed results. On bodog i was 2 tabling the 5/10nl games and just couldn't get anything going so i just decided to cut my losses of a few hundred dollars. Next i moved onto stars where there was only 1 5/1o game going but a really soft looking 25/50 table so i decided to go with the 25/50nl. I feel comfortable playing at these stakes but the games are usually sick hard so i tend to stay away from them but that was not the case today. I was playing fairly tight (mainly due to the lack of cards) but picked up a few pots here and there and was able to win around 1200 or something in the hour i was there. Unfortunately i was also playing a super soft 5/10 game where these calling stations would call me down every time with nothing and i ended up losing a good amount in this game. I don't mind being the aggressor and having players calling me down all the time but playing this role means you need to eventually pick up a few hands which just wasn't happening, so after the 5/10 debacle i was up only a few hundred on stars. Last but not least was full tilt where i played a 10/20nl heads up table and a 3/6 plo table. I usually don't play heads up tables but i was just looking through the lobby and noticed that the 2 players in the heads up match looked horrible so i joined the waiting list. The main reason why i decided to play the 10/20 was because both players were only in for 1k instead of the full 2k and most the time when a player buys in for not the full amount they are usually a bad player. The plo games were full of bad players as most plo games are but i wasn't really able to get much going in the game so i think i ended up finishing about even in plo or down a few hundred. Anyways that sums up my couple hours of play today but check back tomorrow and I'm out.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1156037 - only pot from 25/50 worth posting. I really hate my check on the turn here too i don't know why i checked. This guy was a really bad player and would probably call me down with any ace so that makes my check even worse. Also I'm assuming he had some hand like j10/jq and my check allowed him to draw for his straight for free.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1156033 - 3 handed and i just saw this same guy get caught bluffing playing a weak hand this same way. I guess i couldve got away from it but with our stacks and thinking this guy is a pretty weak player i don't know how i feel about this one.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1156041 - the 10/20 heads up hand where I'm a huge luck box and ruin this guys day haha. No but really i thought with his big raise pre he had like ak or some mid pair so i decide to push all in here.and if he has ak i have outs. When i pushed i was pretty confident that if i was called i would have any 2, 4, or any club as an out and that's if he has ak and even calls, which unfortunately he did. River 2 gg ship the 1k haha this guy sat out at the table for about 4 minutes just talking shit to it was pretty funny.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1156052 - only omaha pot that was of any significance

Daily total- 925.98 (801.44 FT) (204.94 Bodog) (329.48 stars)

Bodog bankroll- 4,550.34 this is lame hopefully i can get this to at least like 7k by the end of the 30 days

Getting excited for Vegas.

With the world series starting June 1st it is completely nuts out there right now and I wish i was there. I am going out there on the 20th for like 5 days to play in a few of the no limit events. There is a nl 1500 tourney the 21st and another 1500 nl tourney on the 23rd which I'm playing in for sure but still don't know about the 21st. I just think with the time change and it being our first night there it is going to be impossible to wake up by noon. I'm not really a tournament player but figure what the hell i might as well win a tournament while im out there haha. I was out there last year during the wsop and the cash games are absolutely sick, i cant wait. My 2 friends (billy t and hodge for those who know me) that I'm going to be living with when i move out there at the end of July just moved out there Sunday. We will be looking at places while i am out there and i hope we can find something nice close to the strip and possibly sign a lease. I guess once i win the tournament on the 23rd ill probably just have to buy a house and stay for a little longer than the 5 days. As for poker today i only played for about an hour. I played some 3/6 pot limit omaha and some 5/10 H.o.r.s.e on stars today with a little success and one big mistake. I really think that when i play omaha i need to be totally focused on the table I'm on or i will play shitty. Well today i figured it would be a good idea to play omaha while playing horse and a tournament at the same time, not a good idea. I still ended up winning but lost a huge pot when i thought i had the nuts but didn't and it was due to me not paying attention. This makes me mad because i never make mistakes like these and when I'm playing omaha i should not be playing 3 completely different games at the same time. I bought a new program today that shows my omaha hands so i can put those up on the site now along with the nl hands. Anyways I've been slacking the past few days on my play so I'm going to try and get a good 5+ hour session in tomorrow. So check back tomorrow night to see how that went and I'm out.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1153363
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1153366
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1153368 - i didn't really want to discuss any of these but this one needs to be explained. I make my standard raise preflop get a few callers and the short stack in the BB pushes in for 70 more. There is a good amount of money in there already and i don't mind my hand being up against an over pair. So i decide to re raise and try to isolate the all in player so we are heads up. Instead the guy who was behind me pushes all in for around 200 more so now its 200 to win around 850. I obviously didn't want to put this much money in preflop with this hand but theres no way i can fold for the 200 more in this spot.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1153383 - here is the hand that i WAS mad about. I simply made a rookie error by mis reading the board and thinking i had the nut flush. That really pisses me off because i cant even recall the last time i did something like this. But looking back at the hand history i think we probably get it all in anyways so i think it still would've been the same result.

Daily total- 903.84

Bodog bankroll- 4755.28 ( didn't play today)

Day 17/ yesterdays play

I wouldn't really consider yesterdays play a session but i did make a little over a k. I'm saying that it wasn't a session because i only played for around a hour on bodog just 2 tabling. I played a 3/6 table and a 5/10 table with some pretty decent results for the short amount of time that i played. I was playing pretty well but lost a pretty big pot right before i quit(nothing i hate more) where i laid down qq on a 983. I'm pretty sure i was beat but i just cant stand getting involved in big pots before quitting, win or lose. After my mini session i went to our Tuesday night game at a friends house and was pretty disappointed this week with the game. Since i was out in Vegas and he just got back from Florida i haven't played in the game in almost a month and was kind of looking forward to it. You might remember me saying it was the best home game i have ever played in, which it is, but this week was kind of dead. Usually we play from about 8pm til around 5 am with there being over 1k in the pot by the end of the night but yesterday we finished at midnight, lame. Still the sickest home game of all time but it was just an off night and i think i ended up making like 20 bucks which i guess i cant complain because i was down about 70 to start. Midnight is just to early to quit playing so being the degenerates that we are, a buddy and I went back to my place and played a 100 H.O.R.S.E. cash game. It was a pretty back and forth match for a good 3 hours until we got it all in during plo where i flopped the straight and he had nut flush draw. Somehow i managed to avoid a club hitting and the match was over with me ending up around 120 on the night. Well i think I'm starting to babble so I'm going to wrap this up. I'm probably going to get a session in later so check back to see how that goes and I'm out.

Day 16/Bodog now owns me!!!

With it being so nice out this weekend i didn't really play a lot of poker but when i did play it didn't go very well. I don't think that i was playing bad i just ran into some big hands, had to make so big lay downs, and when i got the money in the middle with the best hands they weren't holding up. As the title says bodog now officially owns me, not really but i did have a bad weekend on there but i guess i was due since i don't think I've even had a losing session on there yet. Also i lost 300 on game 6 of the pistons series where they were eliminated by titty or whatever the fuck Gibson's name is. Losing the 300 sucks but i think listening to everybody ride lebrons cock for the next 2 weeks is going to be worse than losing the money. Anyways I'm starting to ramble so here are some hands from the past few days and I'm out.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1144996 - here is the one hand from the weekend that I'm still not sure of whether i like the way i played it or not. This guy had been raising my blinds a lot so i make a standard re raise and obviously wasn't hoping for a call then re raise. I'm pretty sure the sb has a mid pair once he pushes for his last 80 but am pretty unsure of the buttons hand. I hit a great flop for my hand but I'm not exactly in love with it. Once the bb calls the 200 on the flop then bets so weakly on the turn I'm thinking 2 things, he has like ak and is betting so weak in hopes to check the river behind, or he has a monster. I put him on ak mainly due to the fact that he didn't re raise me preflop so i decide to make a smallish looking raise to represent a hand like qqq/kkk but it was just bad timing. Obviously once he re pushes the turn i know i now need a club and i don't get there, gg 1k. The way this hand was played out was pretty weird so I'm unsure of whether i like the way i played. If he does have a hand like ak here i think i get him to lay it down it was just a bad read and i guess played well by this guy? even though i hate his play of just calling my re raise because he now was giving the sb sick odds to call to and playing KK against 2 players just is a bad play in this situation. Anyways i guess he has the money so he played it perfect....

Weekend total- 3,128.84 (1,104.33 stars) (2,024.51 bodog) obviously after i open my mouth Friday about not having a losing session in a while the poker gods slap me down haha.
