Back from Vegas

I just got back from Vegas yesterday and am still feeling the after effects. My sleep schedule is all fucked up and i think i might have contracted s.a.r.s., overall though it was definitely worth it. I would say this was probably the funnest trip that i have taken out there so far. We stayed at the Flamingo the first 4 days and it was actually a lot nicer than i was expecting. I didn't really play that much poker the first 4 days just did more drinking and paryting. We went to studio 54 at the MGM one night and the playboy club a top the Palms another night and both were pretty sick. I decided to sit down at 2/5 around 3a.m. after the bar and lets just say it wasn't the best idea haha. I went all in pre-flop for like 600 with ak vs. qq which i actually think was a good play and don't really know how the guy called me but oh well, needless to say i didn't hit. The guy thought forever and i thought i could get him off it but the idiots at 2/5 cant fold so good call i guess. So after the first couple of nights being there i was down about 2k haha, just the way i was hoping to start. That wasn't that big of a deal because i knew i would win it back and a lot of the 2k was spent on a lot of other things than poker. We also went to this sick steakhouse in the MGM called Craft steak and it was by far the greatest steak/meal i have ever had. Granted it was like over 200 a person but i think it was well worth it, it was that good. My buddy's cousin who is cool as hell picked up a good part of the check so that was really cool of him. If you are ever in Vegas i definitely recommend that you eat at Craft steak. The last few days out there i stayed at the Wynn and the room/hotel was sick. I have been there many times before but never in any of the rooms and they are sweet. I went to check in and they didn't have a room for me so they put me in a deluxe room on the 60th floor, which is the top floor, BALLLIINNN haha. The rooms there are so sick i don't think i will be able to stay anywhere else when i go out there now. The room had plasmas in the main room and in the bathroom with a sick view overlooking their golf course and las vegas. Unfortunately i didn't really take any pictures of the trip again so i dont really have any to put up on the blog. I think i am going back out there again though in march so i will take some for sure that time. As for poker the trip didn't really go as planned. I would say that i lost around 500 playing poker which isn't a big deal at all but i was just running so shitty it sucked. I must have got my money all in 5 or 6 times as the favorite and lost every hand to a turn card or river card. It sucks but that's just the way it goes sometimes, you are going to get unlucky that's just the way the game is. I was down about 2k with 3 days to go and managed to get back to even the day before i left. This was pretty good considering how bad i was running. If i wasn't running so bad i would've pulled in some decent money but the cards just weren't holding up what can you do. Every time i would get the money in i swear the person would suck out on the turn or the river every time. Once i got back to even i ran into the sickest half hour of the whole trip where i managed to lose around 1700 in a little under a half hour. There were 3 big hands in this half hour that really just stuck it to me and i wouldn't play these hands any different i just got unlucky/cold decked.

Hand 1- Idiot to my left had been limping into every hand and calling/raising with really weak hands. So we are 6 handed i have j8c from the button i raise to 20 pre and the idiot calls. Flop comes 910Q and i flop the straight. He checks to me i bet out 25,he raises to 70, i think for a sec then re raise to 155, and before i can even get my chips into the pot he immediately goes all in for like 420 more. I don't see how i can get away from this hand 6 handed so i finally call and of course he has the KJ and i lose about 700 here. Not a bad beat at all but just a sick set up and i don't think many players are getting away from this hand.

Hand 2- about 10 minutes later i pick up AA in early position and raise to 20 again and have 2 callers behind me. Flop comes down Q86 which is an ok flop but there are a lot of draw possibilities with this flop so i bet out 50 into the 75 and get 1 caller. I had played with this kid the day before and he would call down with any pair/draw so i didn't really like him calling. The turn comes a 9 which I didn't think hit him but i checked only to check raise if he bet out a decent amount which he did. So he bets out 80 and I'm positive i have the best hand at this point so i re raise him 175 on top of his 80 hoping to take the pot down right here but he calls and i already have a sick feeling before the river comes. The river comes a retarded 7 which i know just killed my hand so i think for a second and throw a freeze bet out there of 50 because i don't want to check and just have him go all in, i wanted to at least see his garbage hand. He thinks for like a minute then finally just calls showing a 910 off suit haha. Nothing like idiots chasing you down when they aren't getting even close to the right odds to call. It wouldn't be a bad play on his part if he was actually raising and playing the hand strong but he was calling down when i was making it clear i had a big hand. Then he just calls on the river when he makes his hand, such a bad play.

Hand-3 This was about 5 minutes after these other 2 hands and i was tilting a little bit but i still think i played this hand pretty good. It is still 6 handed and i have AKc in the BB and the guy from the button raises to 20 so i make it 75 to go. He thinks for a second then calls so at this point I'm putting him on at least a some what decent hand. The flop comes down 854 with 2 hearts so i bet out 90 which i would with a big pair here, he thinks for a bit then finally calls. At this point I'm pretty sure he has something like 991010 or jj. The turn is a 3 actually a pretty good card for my hand giving me 4 more outs,so i could check and let him take control of the hand or try and blow him off his weak mid pair which i did. I bet out 180 on the turn here thinking i am taking it down right here or if i catch an A K or 2 i will have the best hand anyway. So this time he thinks for a while then finally just flat calls again which gave me this sick feeling like he had 88 or flopped a huge hand. The river is a disgusting King which i hated to see once he smooth called the turn because i had a feeling i was now beat after he called the turn and i would have to pay off his river bet. So i check the King and he thinks for a second and bets out 200, so sick. Once i checked and he bet the 200 i actually said "such a sick river card i know you have 88 and the river comes a King just to stick in my ass because i have to call now." So i did finally pay him off and obviously he has the 88 for a set and there goes another 600. I just got up and walked away from the table at this point i was so frustrated.

So my hard work of getting back to even was lost in a matter of a half hour. It definitely sucked but that's the way it goes sometimes. I ended up pulling in like 700 the day i had to leave to cut my losses to only 1200 which i don't really care considering how much i spent and how bad i ran while i was out there. It sucks that i had my 1st loss out in vegas but this was the funnest trip i have had out there so its not a big deal. As for the goal i will be starting back up either tomorrow or Sunday so check back and im out.

Day # 14

Today i really had too much running around to do so i couldn't really play any poker like i wanted to. I played for like an hour but I'm not even going to post anything about it. I made like 80 bucks haha and didn't really play any hands so there is nothing to post about it. Tomorrow i will be leaving for Las Vegas so there will be a week hiatus on the blog. I will hopefully get some pictures to put up on the site but we will see how that goes. This is my 5th time going out there and i have no pictures at all so I'm not promising anything. Although i plan on doing more partying than playing poker so i should be able to take some pictures or videos, hopefully videos... haha. I will be flying back in Thursday morning so the blog will be back up Thursday night or Friday. I do plan on getting 4 good days of play in while I'm out there but i am not going to count it towards the blog. I am taking 4k out there and will play 2/5 no cap at the Wynn, some 5/10 at the Bellagio, and possibly a few tournaments. Anyways as i said i will not be counting this trip towards the goal and am going to just pick up at Day 15 when i return. With that being said i am going to sleep and i will be back next week, Nechita out.

Day # 13

Today i had a lot of running around to do but was able to play for about 3 hours. I played 1 table of 10/20, 1 table of 5/10, and played in the 150 buy in tournament again. Had some ok results at the cash games but wasn't able to cash in the tournament. I was really card dead in the tournament and just kind of hung around until i picked up aces and obviously they didn't hold up. When this happened it definitely reminded me why i hate to play tournaments. I'm not saying that tournament hands are rigged but the beats you take playing those are just insane compared to cash games. Lets just say when i got my AA all in preflop against 2 other players (kk and aq) i knew they would lose and they did. The even funnier part is that they lost to both of the other hands haha. This always seems to happen to me late in tourneys and it just makes me not want to play tourneys it pisses me off so much. I wouldn't really have cared if this happened in the first 5 minutes but i had played for a few hours and if my aces would've held up i would've cashed for sure and went deep into the tourney. Tomorrow i plan on putting together one last good session before i leave for vegas so check back tomorrow night for results. Day # 12.... if u want to call it that.

The reason for my title is due to the fact that i was completely hung over and wasn't feeling poker at all today. I was planning on playing in the big Sunday tourney today and playing a long session but my brain wasn't on the same page. I finally started to feel some what normal around 9 and decided to play but immediately wasn't into it at all. I did manage to play for about an hour of just 2 tables and i saw around 150 hands which really isn't anything. The 10/20 game looked soft so i played that and was doing pretty well but just didn't have the focus i needed to play my A game so i quit. I will be taking a week off from the blog starting Wednesday because i will be going to las vegas for a week. I was thinking about counting the week that i am out there towards the goal but i really don't know how much i am even going to play while there. We are staying at the flamingo and also at the Wynn. The Wynn is by far my favorite casino out there and favorite poker room so i cant wait. They give such a sick deal to poker players its by far the best poker rate out there. I am getting a room for 129 a night with the poker rate when the rooms are usually around 350 a night. They give you this poker rate as long as you play 5 hours of poker a day in their poker room which i would do even if i wasn't staying there. I am going to put together a couple of big sessions in the next few days before i head out there so check back tomorrow to see how that went. Here are a couple hands from today and I'm out.

Day # 11

Today was a pretty uneventful day. I played for about 3 hours and saw around 600 hands without much success. Today i was really just card dead. I couldn't pick up any hands and when i would try to make a play it seemed like i would get re raised every time. There really isn't much else to say about today's play other than the fact that i didn't catch any hands and when i did they didn't hold up. I plan on putting together another long session tomorrow as well as playing a few tournaments. I am going to play the 215 buy in on stars and maybe another but we will see. So with that being said check back tomorrow night for hopefully a nice score in the tournament and cash games. Here are a few hands and I'm out.

Once he bets the flop i know he has aa/kk/ak and in this spot i am 50/50 or even a slight favorite to win against these hands. So i decide to get it in the middle and i will gamble with these hands everytime against a big pair.

Today started off pretty rocky but i was able to crawl out of the red and back into the green. I only managed to play for about 4 hours and was down about 2k after just an hour of play. I kept playing my game though and was able to turn my 2k deficit into a pretty decent win for starting out so shitty. Somebody recently asked me how come people couldn't leave comments on my page and i didn't even realize it was turned off. So i fixed that for any of you who want to leave a comment or just harass me haha. Anyways i am in the process of getting drunk/ready for tonight so check back tomorrow, I'm out. Day # 9

Today was kind of a break through day in terms of the goal. I was playing well and running pretty good too. I played my longest session in a long time of 9 hours and saw around 1500 hands today. I am pretty pleased with my results today because i am now ahead of schedule on achieving my goal. I have been trying to play a lot of smaller pots lately and i think it has really improved my game. Instead of getting involved in a lot of all in pots i feel i can outplay people after the flop. I also played my first tournament tonight in a long time and got fairly deep in it. I played the $150 buy in on pokerstars and ended up finishing 59th out of 1145 people for $481 so that was a good confidence booster. I really haven't played any tournaments in the past month and wanted to see how i would do. I have final tabled this tournament 2 times in the past (3rd, 4th) for a couple nice pay outs. I really want to improve my tournament game and i think after this goal that is something i am going to focus on. Anyways it is pretty late and i will be back at it tomorrow so check back. Today i was able to put together a pretty lengthy session with some alright results. I played for about 6 hours and saw about 1400 hands. I put together some ok results but lost a few big pots towards the end of my session which really cut down my winnings. I really feel that i play my best game when i play longer sessions and really get a feel for how the table is playing. I am really going to try and play for at least 5 hours+ from now on. I am a little behind pace on achieving the goal but i have plenty of time left so I'm not to worried about it. I was close to putting up some pretty good numbers today but ran into a few big hands towards the end of the day. Today was pretty much another wasted day in terms of poker. I had to wake up early (by 1) and do a lot of running around during the day. Then after that i got side tracked by how sick tiger woods 07 is on ps3, and thats without the HD cable. I was planning on playing after that but watched the red wings game instead. I couldve watched it in my room and played but i dont have a plasma in my room. Besides all that though i actually squeezed in about a half hour of play haha. I played about 100 hands and nothing exciting happened during the half hour. Here are a few of the "key hands" during my marathon session haha. Today was one of those days where i wasn't really in the mood to play poker so i only played for about 2 hours. I really hated to see the club on the river but i bet out anyways because i am going to call anyways if i check and he pushes in his last 200. I don't think i played this bad i just tried to get too sneaky and it didn't work out.

Today i played for around 6 hours and saw about 1200 hands. I had some pretty decent results today but still feel like i couldve been up so much more. I keep running into 1 or 2 big hands each session which i cant get away from and end up getting stacked. The thing that sucks is these are hands that there really is no way that i am not going to go broke with. I keep running into set over set and theres really no way you are not going to go broke with these types of set ups. I am pretty happy with my play today and think overall i would give myself an A- on my play today. I really shouldve been up much more on the day but ran into another set over set right before i logged off. So instead of being up around 4k i am up only around 2k but eventually my luck will change and ill be the one with the higher sets, hopefully. Today started off pretty much the same as the past few days, down a few buy ins. I played for around 3 hours and got sick of running into huge hands and losing so i quit. I was down about 2k again when i decided to quit. So after a night of drinking and shots i decided to get back on and play for a few hours and actually turning my down 2k into a 1k profit. Day # 2

Today was an absolute nightmare. I played for about 6 hours and it was one of the worst sessions I've had in a while. I kept getting my money all in as the favorite and lost every time. I am so frustrated right now its sick. These are the days that really are a gut check to whether or not you have what it takes to do this for a living. I have lost amounts like this plenty of times before but the cards are running so bad its sick. Of course i have to have a day like this right at the beginning of my goal too haha. I guess there is nothing i can do but keep playing my game and hope the cards start to do what they are supposed to. I am playing and reading my opponents well but every time i get the money in the middle as a favorite i lose. Oh well, all i can do is keep getting it in as the favorite and ride this cold streak out. Here are the hands today that really caused me to be down today. Day # 1

Today was the first day of my goal. I wanted to start out yesterday but was way to hungover/tired to play. Today i played about 1200 hands and couldn't really get much going. I played for about 6 hours and was playing pretty well/running kinda bad. Every time it felt like i was getting some momentum and really going to put up some big numbers i would run into a big hand, which i would lose. I really feel like today would've been a lot better than my results show but the cards were not on my side. Today i felt pretty good playing for a longer period of time than i have been lately. I am going to be putting together 5+ hour sessions everyday until i achieve my goal. My stats show that i have a lot better results when i play for longer amounts of time opposed to playing for an hour and trying to push the action too much. Poker Goal for the new year

I have been giving this some thought for a few weeks now and have came up with a poker goal for the new year. I wanted something that was going to be challenging but also not to difficult to achieve. So without further delay here is my 1st poker goal. I will be trying to make 40k in 100 days. I feel this goal is pretty realistic but at the same time not a walk in the park. I will be giving updates of my progress daily so be sure to check back on the 1st. seacrest out.

Due to the holidays i have been very busy and not playing poker. I have just had a lot going on and cant really find anytime to sit down and play for any amount of time. I really don't see myself getting any playing in until the new year. Festivus, my bday on the 27th, pistons game in a suite on the 29th, and new years will pretty much take up all my time. I think this might be a good thing for my game though. It will allow me to take a break and actually look forward to playing. As for the goal i haven't decided on anything yet but have a few plans I'm thinking about.
Anyways that is the run down on what i have been up and I'm out.

Bad play/bad day

I don't really have much to say other than i played horribly and ended up with bad results. I didn't play a long session i only played for a few hours and played horrible. I didn't have any patience to play and it really shows in my overall daily results. I came in raising a lot of hands and just kept running into people with big hands. Then when i picked up big hands i would get no action at all or get outdrawn so overall today was a blast haha. Going to take a break from playing tomorrow and try to clear my head and hopefully pull something together Thursday. It has been a while since i have played a session over 5 hours and i really want to come in fresh Thursday and destroy the tables haha. anyways i am out, check back Thursday.

PS3 is junk

I played poker for about 5 minutes today until i got the hook up on a PS3. The games are pretty sweet on there and the system is sweet except the piece of shit froze up like every 30 minutes. So i will be keeping it until Sony fixes the problem and comes out with new ones. So that was pretty much my day but tomorrow i am putting together a BIGGG session, since i just spent 1k for a paper weight. I did find out from Toshiba that they will be giving me a new plasma in place of my broke one so that was nice. Anyways I'm out and check back tomorrow.

Very uneventfull day

Today i attempted to play but just was so wore out from the weekend i quit. I didn't play any of the Sunday tourneys because i slept past there start time of 4 haha. This was probably for the best anyways since i really wasn't feeling poker at all. I played 2 tables at stars(10/20 and a 5/10) and i played 1 table of 5/10 on fulltilt. Pretty much played ABC poker for about 2 hours and couldn't get anything going/ couldn't focus enough to play well. I really only got involved in 1 key hand on stars which i played terribly and lost. On fulltilt i just grinded the 2 hours out and had an ok profit for playing only 2 hours of 1 table. No real big hands , just picking up a lot of small uncontested pots. I plan on putting together a big session tomorrow so i am going to try and go to sleep at an early time. With that being said here are a few hands and i am out.

My only big hand during my stars session and i played it pretty poorly. I was smooth calling the flop and saying to myself no heart and of course it came. I threw out a freeze bet on the turn which actually worked out but no help on the river.
