I haven't posted in a few days and that's because i haven't played much up until today. I played for about an hour yesterday and lost a few hundred but didn't really feel like posting at all. I have had a busy few days and last night i played in possibly the sickest live .25/.50 cent game ever. The blinds are .25/.50 with 9 players and by the end of the night there was over 1k in the pot which is just sick for a game this low. Its such a good game because there is tons of action and some pretty deep stacks (for .25/.50) towards the end of the night. I was stuck for about 120 for a while but when morning rolled around i was up 20 bucks and drunk as fuck so it was a good night. Anyways back to the goal, today i put together a nice session on pstars of about 4 hours with some pretty good results. I didn't quite play as long as i would've liked to but the games started to get filled with tons of good players so i decided to call it a day. I am getting pretty close to the end of this goal and really hope that i will be able to finish off the goal by the end of the week. Although the weekend is coming up and i really seem to have a hard time finding time to play on the weekends so we'll see how that goes. Anyways the wings game is starting up here in a bit so i have to get my pre-game on but check back tomorrow and I'm out.

Day 59/ a grimey session

Today was a pretty long drawn out session. I played for around 5-6 hours on full tilt and pokerstars with some alright results. I guess just being in the green after today's donkfest feels pretty good. I started playing 2 tables on pokerstars and 1 table of 5/10nl on fulltilt and was immediately stuck for about 1500 on full tilt. It just seemed like everything i did within the first hour was blowing up in my face. If i raised i would get re raised every time, if i called i would completely miss every flop, and if i tried to bluff i would get like insta-called with middle pair no kicker. So after about an hour of getting my head kicked in and being stuck about 1500 i decided to just log off there and stick to pokerstars before i started to tilt. I logged back on after a few hours of cooling down and the original title of this post was going to be (i hate full tilt) but i am finishing up my 2nd stint on there today and am almost back to even somehow. Anyways that pretty much sums up my day of hard work so here are some hands from today's play and I'm out.

Could the sopranos be more boring?

Well the first two episodes of the sopranos are starting off the way the first half of the season ended, incredibly boring. I am just really losing all interest in the show and its too bad because it was a really great show. I hope that they start to pick it up a little bit here or ill just be happy that the boringness is finally over when the series ends. I didn't really have any time to play much poker today so i just decided that i would wait until tomorrow to start up a good session. That combined with my raging hangover from a long night led me to believe that i just wouldn't be able to play my A game. I fooled around for a bit today playing some 5/10 H.O.R.S.E. and was actually able to win around 100 bucks which isn't bad because i think I'm pretty bad at a few of the games. For those of you that don't know HORSE is a game that is made up 5 different games- limit Hold em, Omaha high/lo, Razz, limit Stud, and Stud hi/lo. You play 1 round of each game which is usually around 8 hands and then the game switches to the next game and so on. I thought it was pretty fun just because its so many different variations of poker other than the usual no limit. I think that I'm pretty good at the hold em, Omaha hi/lo, and the razz, but i really feel that my stud game is incredibly weak so i will have to work on that. Today i woke up a little hung over and decided i would play for a little while. I only played 1 table of 5/10nl and a free roll tournament for the top VIP members on pokerstars which pays out 10,000 for first. I'm still in the tournament right now with about 270 players left with it paying the top 90 so we will see how that goes. I have a wedding reception to go to tonight which should be pretty fun so i wont have any time to play or post later. Today i played for about a half hour and then the tables started to get tough so i quit playing. They weren't really all that tough but about after a half hour of play i just wasn't really feelin in the poker mood so i decided to quit. Anyways i managed to win a little bit for only playing such a short amount of time so here are the few hands from today and I'm out.

So i decide to make a very weak bet of 30 on the river which looks like a weak blocking type of bet and make it look like im scared of the straight on board to get him to try and bluff and it works perfect. There is no reason to reraise in this spot on the river because i am 100% sure he has a very weak hand and i wont get another penny out of him.

day 56/ let the playoff hockey begin...

That is right the Stanley cup playoffs started today and other than march madness this is the best time of the year to be a sports fan. Even though I'm pretty sure no one else really cares or might not even know what hockey is haha. Obviously i will be rooting for the red wings but the western conference is so stacked its going to be a tough road to the finals. Just getting through the 1st round is going to be hard, they play Calgary in the 1st round as an 8 seed which is the 1 team i didn't want to play in the first round because they are very physical and i hate to say it but Detroit is a team of pussy's. Anyways enough rambling on about the wings and to some poker. I put together a pretty good session today of about 5 hours and i was able to put up some good numbers. It started off pretty rocky being stuck about 500 in the first half hour but i managed to grind my way back into the green. Some reason there was no 5/10nl games going on full tilt so i played 3 tables of 5/10 on pokerstars. I hope to be able to play tomorrow but i have some running around to do during the day and the wings game starts at 7 so we will see how that goes. I am just starting to play today so i am going to keep this pretty short. Yesterday i played for a couple hours and couldn't really get anything going. Day 54/ a big set back....

Today i didn't play any cash games but for some reason decided to play in some tournaments. I played in 4 tournaments on pokerstars the 150, 109, 22+re buys, and the softest tourney field in the world the 20 dollar heads up tourney. I managed to cash in the 150 and the 20 heads up but neither of the cashes were anything big so i think overall i ended up breaking about even on the day. I couldve easily cashed in the 22 re buy tourney too but my qq ran into kk in a blind vs. blind situation and really crippled me right before cashing. So i guess you could say overall today in terms of poker was a waste of time. I did set up another trip out to Vegas though for may 9 through the 16th so i feel like i accomplished a lot today haha. Well that pretty much sums up today's play and i plan on putting together a long session tomorrow so check back to see how that went and I'm out.

Day 53/ a real session!

Today i finally played a session that lasted longer than 2 hours and played pretty well. I crawled out of bed around 1 and hopped right on the computer which i usually don't like to play right when i wake up but for some reason i was itchin to play. I played only 2 tables of 5/10nl on stars for about 5 hours and was really playing well/not running bad and i was able to put up some good numbers for only 2 tabling. Anyways i am in the process of getting drunk/ready for the night so i am going to wrap this up. Today i feel like i might have got myself back on track. I played for around 5 hours today and i feel like i was really on top of my game. I signed up for an account on cardrunners.com which is a instructional website for cash game players and is ran/taught by some of the best online players at the highest stakes. The reason i signed up was just to get a different thought process on certain hands/situations other than my own. The reason why i wanted this account was due to the fact that Ive realized that i was almost in like a robotic state lately when I've been playing. I would play 4-5 tables and just do the same thing on every table and not really think of other ways to play different hands in different spots. Also ive noticed in a lot of the higher stakes videos the players talk about really concentrating on just a few tables other than playing 4-5 and it made a huge difference today. I played only 2 5/10nl tables at a time today and i am really shocked at how much more into the games i felt rather than playing 5 tables. I was immediately able to pick up on who was strong at the table and who the weak players were to attack. For anyone that reads this blog that wants to become a good poker player i highly suggest signing up for an account on cardrunners. They have videos ranging from .25/.50nl up to 25/50nl so the videos are helpful for any type of player. Anyways this post is getting pretty long so check back tomorrow to see how i did and I'm out.

Another waste of time...

Today i made the mistake of playing in the big Sunday tournaments and didn't cash in either. I really got off to a good start in both tourneys but it seems like i really fall apart in the middle stages of tournaments. I am going to look into this and try to figure out what i am doing wrong once i build up a big stack. I busted out 1300th in the stars tourney which paid the top 1080 and i busted out like 650th or something in the Full tilt tourney which paid the top 370. I really think once i figure out what I'm doing wrong in the middle stages of these tourneys i could put up some good numbers. Anyways that sums up how my tourney day went and what a waste of time it was. As for the goal i am now on the 50th day/half way point and to tell you the truth I'm not really happy with the results so far. Yes, i am ahead of schedule which is good but i really feel like i could have this goal already over with by now. Over the past 20 days or so of this goal i have really been slacking off and i cant even remember the last time i played a session longer than like 2-3 hours. So over the next half of this goal i am really going to try to focus a lot more on my play and hopefully finish this thing up over the next couple weeks. With that being said i have to get up early tomorrow (noon) so i should get a good session in tomorrow. Check back tomorrow night to see how that went and I'm out.

Day 50 tourney sunday

Today i am playing in a few of the 215 buy in tournaments on stars and fulltilt. I dont really think i am going to play any cash games today but who knows we will have to see how i do in the tourneys. I am on the first 5 minute break of the stars tournament and have around the average stack size with about 5k people remaining. The full tilt tournament starts at 530 so i will be playing in that and i am really going to concentrate on cashing in both. Day 48/ Back from vegas unfortunately.....

I think that my title pretty much sums up on how i feel about leaving Vegas. I absolutely love that city and every time i have to get on that flight to come home its a little depressing. The trip was really fun because we were there with a few people who have never been to Vegas and its fun to see the reaction you get from them. We stayed at the imperial palace which is a real good place to stay for the price because it is in the center of the strip and that is where you want to be. The hotel is pretty shitty and the people there are those degenerates you see on the gambling commercials but other than that its a great place haha. We went to the palms one night to try and get into Hugh Hefner's bday party at the playboy club but the place was a madhouse and there was no way in. I guess Paris Hilton had just walked out a few minutes before we got there so that sucked because i wouldn't have minded a quickie. We also went to hang out with my boy chad who works at a strip club out there and it was a real fun night. Once again i didn't really get to play as much cards as i wanted to but when i did i had some pretty good results. We went to old Vegas which is about 10 minutes from the strip to check it out and to play in this 110 tourney at binions. There were about 70 players in the tourney with it paying the top 7 and first prize was 2k which was the only thing i was there for. My buddy ended up busting out like 10th which sucks because it would've been cool if we were both at the final table and i took 4th. I had the tournament won and got sucked out on so bad it was sick. It was down to the final 4, this other kid and i have all the chips and on a flop of 1087 i get it all in with k10 against his A7 and he hits a 7 on the turn and leaves me with no chips. It was so frustrating because i still have yet to win a tourney and if i won that hand it was over. Also i really wanted the 2k because we had big plans with the winnings but instead i won like 350 and was just pissed instead. The last day there i played my only real session of the trip which was 2/5nl at the wynn and i managed to win like 550 which got me back to even on the trip so that was nice. Anyways i am starting to ramble on here so that was a very brief summary of how my trip to Vegas was and i really plan on going back out there very soon so if anyones interested. I did play for a few hours yesterday so here are those hands and I'm not sure if i will play later because the wings have a HUGE game tonight against the preds. dead from the past few days....

I am really tired from the trip up to mt. pleasant so this is going to be a fairly short post. The poker room up there is really pathetic and probably the worst ran room i have ever played in. The dealers were absolutely terrible, they would keep having mis-deals, dealing really slow, and some times not even knowing what was going on. The only no limit game they had going was a 1/2 100max buy in (pathetic) and i just have a hard time taking limits that low seriously. I won like 250 the first day and got unlucky a few times the next day and ended up losing like 350. So overall i lost about 1-200 playing against retards and ended up dropping like 400 during the trip ( damn strippers). We ended up only playing for like 3-4 hours each day and proceeded to get completely wasted both nights. We stayed at this kids house in bay city where i have never been before and it was pretty cool there were tons of bars on like every block. I was/am really tired but i did play for like an hour just kind of fooling around and was able to make like 1k so that was nice. I'm not sure how much i am going to be able to play tomorrow because i still have to get tons of stuff ready for Vegas on Friday. Quick update on where i've been

I have been really busy the past 3 or 4 days so i haven't had any time to play poker. I plan on getting at least a couple good sessions in though before i leave for Vegas on Friday. I am going to the soaring eagle casino in mt. pleasant tomorrow until Wednesday so i wont be playing online at all but will be playing some live poker.
